Range Rover Tyres: Size, Weight and Lifting
A full-size Range Rover can weigh well over two tonnes, more with passengers and luggage. Tyres need a load index to match, and many are XL (extra load). A tyre that fits the wheel but has a lower load index isn't a safe replacement.
Most Range Rover models have air suspension that adjusts ride height automatically. Vehicle lifting requirements vary by model and must be assessed before fitting. We work through this with you on site.
LR-Marked Tyres
LR on the sidewall shows a tyre made to Land Rover's specification. It's the closest match, subject to availability.
Large Wheels
Big wheels with low-profile tyres are easier to damage on potholes and kerbs. Check the rim too when a tyre goes flat.

Attendance is subject to permission, safe access, adequate working space and suitability.

Tyre Notes for Range Rover
Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar and Evoque models run on large wheels, typically 19 to 23 inch depending on the model and trim. The tyres are big and heavy, and many are XL (extra load) rated because of the vehicle's weight. Some owners fit all-season or all-terrain tyres. Give us the full sidewall marking, including the load and speed rating, so we bring the right tyre.
Most Range Rovers have air suspension. Vehicle lifting requirements vary by model and must be assessed before fitting, and some cars have an access height or jacking mode that should be set first. Tell us the model and year so we can check before we set off.
Range Rovers usually have a locking wheel nut, often stored with the toolkit under the boot floor. Some models carry a space-saver or full-size spare, others a repair kit. Tyre pressure monitoring is standard and may need a reset after new tyres, which we can show you.
Range Rovers used for towing or carrying heavy loads should keep the correct load rating on all four tyres.
Fitments vary by model, year and trim, so always check the size, load index and any approval marking on your current tyre, or in the Range Rover handbook.
