Porsche N-Rated Tyres Explained
Certain models may specify particular tyre types or approvals. We will need to check the correct specification for your vehicle. On a Porsche this usually appears as an N followed by a number, such as N0 or N1. Porsche recommends N-rated tyres, and the same marking on both tyres of an axle is the safest match.
Most Porsches use wider tyres on the rear than the front, so a rear tyre cannot be swapped to the front. Tell us which corner is damaged and we bring that size only.
Low Cars, Careful Lifting
A 911 or Cayman sits low. Vehicle lifting requirements vary by model and must be assessed before fitting. Firm, level ground is needed.
Taycan
The electric Taycan is heavy and fast. Tyres need the right load rating, and the car is lifted only at its marked points.

Some sizes are less common. We confirm the tyre is available before promising a time.

Tyre Notes for Porsche
Porsche approves tyres with an N marking, shown as N0, N1, N2 and so on, where a higher number is a newer version. Mixing different N numbers or brands on the same axle is not recommended. Most Porsches, including the 911, Cayman, Boxster and Taycan, use staggered sizes with wider tyres at the rear, commonly 19 to 21 inch.
Some specialist wheel systems, such as centre-lock wheels on certain models, require specific equipment and procedures. We must confirm suitability before accepting the job. Taycan and Macan Electric are heavy cars and need tyres with the correct load rating, often HL or XL.
High-performance tyres wear faster than everyday tyres, especially on the rear axle. Many Porsches have locking wheel bolts and no spare wheel. Tyre pressure monitoring may need setting to the right load or tyre type in the car's menu after new tyres.
Tyre age also matters on Porsches that cover low mileage. The four-digit DOT code on the sidewall shows the week and year the tyre was made, and rubber hardens over time even with plenty of tread left.
